Job Description:
System One is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer
for a long-term contract opportunity, with a remote or hybrid,
supporting our client in Bellevue, WA. Preference given to local
candidates open to a hybrid work model.

Reporting to the manager, Thermal Hydraulics for Core Design and
Methods, you will refine core assembly designs and evaluate their
thermal-hydraulic behavior under various conditions in an advanced
nuclear reactor systems.
Responsibilities
Perform state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics analysis in
exploration of reactor architecture options including component
selections, configurations, and sizing in support of the design of
a demonstration reactor system
Work with cross-disciplinary teams to analyze the thermal and
mechanical design considerations for the reactor and its
components
Provide technical presentations on analyses performed to the
broader team.
Prepare informal and formal reports to document findings and make
reasoned recommendations, and report to core thermal hydraulic team
manager/lead
Ideal Background
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D in Mechanical, Nuclear, or other relevant
technical Engineering area from an accredited university
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the relevant industry with a
B.S. degree, or 3+ years with an M.S or Ph.D. degree with
demonstrated ability to computational fluid dynamics modeling and
simulation of nuclear reactor core components for simulation-based
design
Demonstrated expertise with a modern CFD tool; STAR-CCM+ preferred,
but not limited to
Expertise with one or more CAD modeling tools; SolidWorks
preferred
Knowledge of liquid metal thermal-hydraulics or experience with
nuclear reactor system codes preferred
Experience in nuclear industry preferred
Experience in Software Quality Assurance (SQA) program and Nuclear
Quality Assurance (NQA-1) standards highly preferred
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills due the
NQA-1 environment and requirements for formally documenting
calculations
The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and

Actual position starting level and title will be determined based
on assessment of qualifications
